RETREAT TERMS & CONDITIONS

 

‘We’ refers to The Saltwater Sauna Ltd, Laughing Lotus Retreats and Fire & Ice Massage & Meditation.

‘Guest’ refers to the client that made the booking.

1. Terms of Service

​

​We list what is included in this Winter Wellness Retreat at www.thesaltwatersauna.com. Travel within the UK including flights to and from the retreat are not included. All food and beverages not mentioned on the ‘Included’ list within the retreat information pack are not included. Relevant travel and health insurances are not included and must be taken for this retreat.​

2. Booking/Payments​

​

Please check carefully all the details of the retreat and your booking before making payment; after this we cannot accept responsibility for incorrect details. Your place is secured by paying a minimum deposit of £350 per person. This deposit is non-refundable or transferable. You will receive an invoice via email with a payment link for paying the remaining balance. Please note full payment is required no later than two months before retreat start date. If we do not receive your balance payment by 4th December 2024, your place may be given to another guest. Bookings after 4th December must be paid for “in full” at the time of booking. The price is based on two people sharing a standard twin/double room; single supplement fee applies for private rooms. Upgrades to superior/deluxe rooms subject to availability.

3. Cancellation by You

​

You may cancel at any time if the person booking and communicated upon makes the cancellation to us in writing. Cancellation will take effect if such notification is received by The Saltwater Sauna Ltd. We will retain your deposit to cover administrative costs incurred and any other bank/payment charges. If cancellation takes place more than 90 days prior to the retreat date, any payment will be refunded minus deposit and any other bank/payment charges. If cancellation takes place between 45-90 days prior to the retreat date, 50% of the retreat price will be kept/given. If cancellation occurs less than 45 days prior to the retreat date 100% of the retreat price will be kept/given.

4. Contraindications

​

We kindly inform our participants that due to the nature of this retreat, which may include activities or conditions that could pose risks to the health and safety of pregnant individuals, we are unable to accommodate participants who are pregnant. This policy is in place to ensure the safety of both the mother and the unborn child. We encourage those affected by this policy to discuss alternative arrangements with us. We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

  • Yoga: By joining the yoga session with Ali Morton Yoga, included in the retreat, you agree to participate at your own risk. Ali Morton Yoga or the venue take no responsibility for injuries incurred. If you are unsure the class is appropriate for you, please seek medical advice prior to the trip. Your yoga teacher is not a medical professional but is committed to participants' health and wellbeing. You should only take part if you feel fit and well. Should you feel unwell, please stop the exercise immediately and consult medical advice.

The following covers the main contraindications to sauna, cold water therapy and breathwork. If there is any doubt over your suitability to participate in these therapies you should consult your own GP or medical professional for advice. 

​

  • Sauna: Any heart or circulatory disorder or disease, high or low blood pressure, recent heart attack, severe anaemia, epilepsy or history of seizures, diabetes, prone to dizziness or fainting, heat intolerance or heat-related conditions.

​

  • ​Cold Water Immersion: Heart disease, high blood pressure, Raynaud’s disease or other conditions that affect blood circulation, respiratory conditions such as asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), cold urticaria (cold-induced hives), peripheral vascular disease, peripheral neuropathy, sensitivity to cold temperature or cold-related conditions.

  • B​reathwork: Uncontrolled high blood pressure or heart disease, epilepsy or history of seizures, history of psychosis or schizophrenia, severe respiratory conditions including COPD.

5. Acknowledgement & Waiver

​

‘We’ take no responsibility against loss, damage, illness, injury, or poor health, so please ensure that you have read, understood and signed our release and waiver of liability form before any activity is undertaken during any of our retreat activities. Please note that you must not participate in any of our retreat activities if you are participating against professional medical advice. If you have any health issues, including those listed above, please consult your doctor and or provide written confirmation from a medical professional to make sure you are in a fit state to join us for the retreat.

  • Release and Waiver of Liability; DECLARATION OF HEALTH: By accepting these Retreat Terms & Conditions, I (the GUEST) represent that I have no physical conditions or medical precautions which would adversely affect my ability to take part in the Winter Wellness Retreat or other physical or cultural activities offered by The Saltwater Sauna Ltd, Laughing Lotus Retreats and Fire & Ice Massage & Meditation. I fully understand that my participation in the retreat and other activities could be injurious to my health and I voluntarily assume all risks related to such activities.  The Saltwater Sauna Ltd, Laughing Lotus Retreats and Fire & Ice Massage & Meditation accept no liability for loss, damage, injury or illness or harm resulting in death. Please ensure you are not completing this activity against the advice of a medical professional.

6. Kindness

​

To ensure enjoyment of all guests, guests must be respectful and not engage in offensive, illegal or immoral acts. If this is not adhered to, we reserve the right to ask a guest to leave our premises or suspend their activities if it is appropriate to do so, without any compensation.

7. Alcohol

​

Participants who choose to consume alcohol should do so responsibly and in moderation. We reserve the right to limit or restrict alcohol consumption at any time to ensure safety. Participants are responsible for their own actions and wellbeing. We are not liable for any injuries, accidents, or damages resulting from alcohol consumption. All participants must comply with applicable local, state, and federal laws regarding alcohol consumption. By participating in the retreat, participants agree to these terms and conditions regarding alcohol consumption.

8. Changes/Trip Cancellations

​

If for any reason beyond our control there is a venue issue, we will find an alternative location for your retreat. Due to teacher cancellations or any other situations outside our control, we reserve the right to make any changes to our program or teachers/practitioners. Alternative arrangements will be offered, but we do not accept responsibility for any costs incurred, including airfare and travel plans. We are exempt from fulfilling our contractual obligations for causes that could not be anticipated and/or are beyond our control, including an act of God, act of man, act of government, and other impersonal events or occurrences. We will always aim to provide you with the services mentioned. Whilst all reasonable efforts will be taken to ensure this, it may be necessary in some circumstances, e.g. extreme weather or environmental conditions outside our control, to relocate guests to another venue of similar standard in the locality. In such cases a supplement may apply. Once your holiday has commenced, no refund or part refund or unused portion of your holiday will be repaid in the event of cancellation by you. It is mandatory to purchase your own travel insurance.

9. Your Personal Information and Copyright

​

We will not knowingly give your personal information to anybody else (except where required to do so by authorities). We will retain your information and from time to time we may contact you with our promotional and retreat related information. We retain all copyright licence rights and exclusively own all photographs and material taken during the retreat and may be displayed on our websites and social media platforms. This information may not be copied or used for any other purpose.

10. Medical Data Privacy Policy

​

To participate in the Thermalist contrast therapy with Fire & Ice Massage & Meditation, you will be requested to supply your contact details and confidential personal information such as your date of birth, medical history and details of previous and current treatment that are relevant to these therapies.  The information is used so that we can provide the best possible treatment options for you, and can contact you for appointment purposes.  We may also use the contact details for occasional marketing or information relaying.

11. Photography and Media Consent / Release

​

By attending the Winter Wellness Retreat, you acknowledge that photography and videography will take place during the event and activities prior. You consent to being photographed and filmed, and to the use of your likeness in marketing and promotional materials, including but not limited to social media, websites, and printed materials such as brochures and flyers.​ We are committed to respecting your privacy. Photography and videography will not be conducted in private areas such as restrooms or private accommodations.
